MUNA had observed UN DAY 2005 – the 60th Anniversary of the United Nations - at Raj Bhawan on Wednesday 26th October 2005 at 5:30pm.

H.E.Shri S.M.Krishana, Governor of Maharashtra was the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour were H.E. Micheal S. Owen, Consul General of USA, H.E.Mr. Don Cairn, Consul General of Australia and H.E. Ms. Irena Krasnicka, Consul General of Czech Republic.

Mrs. Pheroza J. Godrej, President, delivered the Welcome Address. Mrs. Mohini Mathur reported the activities of   MUNA.

A solo belly dance on peace was performed by Ms. Khushroo S. Dallas. This performance was arranged by   our Executive Chairperson, Ms. Mohini Mathur.

Doves were released as a symbol of peace by H.E.Mr. Shri Krishna and Mrs. Pheroza J. Godrej.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. A.A.Syed, followed by National Anthem.

A special folder was published for the occasion.

The Police Band was in attendance.

4. Human Rights Day 2005.

Human Rights Day was observed on Wednesday 14 December 2005 at 5:30 pm at Walchand Hirachand Hall, IMC Mumbai.

The Topic for this programme was “TERRORISM: THE BANE OF HUMANITY”.

The Chief Guest for this programme was the Hon’ble Mr. Justice R.S.Mohite, High Court, Bombay.

The Guest of Honour was H.E.Mr.Eid Humood Al-Qahtani, Consul General of Bahrain The guest speakers were: H.E. Mrs. Irina K. Bashkivora, Dy. Consul-General of the Russian Federation; Mr. S. Balakrishnan, Chief of Bureau, Times of India. 

The Welcome Address was delivered by President, Mrs. Pheroza J. Godrej.  Ms. Mohini Mathur reported the activities of MUNA.  Mr. A.A.Syed delivered the Vote of Thanks.

Refreshments were served after the event.
