MUNA observed world Health Day on Monday 13th April 2009 at Godrej Bhawan at 5:00PM.

The Theme was given by WHO "Save lives make hospitals safe in emergencies". The programme was well attended by members of MUNA, important personalities from Mumbai students and teachers of schools and colleges and general public.

Welcome address was delivered by Mrs. Pheroza J. Godrej – the then President of MUNA, Mrs. Mohini Mathur – Executive Chairperson read the message for the occasion of world health day 2009.

Mr. Sanjeevan Joshi Addl. Controller of Civil Defense at Civil Defense Corps, Brihanmumbai explained the emergency preparedness about disaster and the condition of our hospitals. He also explained through power point presentation various trainings given by civil defense for emergency preparedness and disaster management.

Dr. Govind Chainani gave a power point presentation with various pictures and data about disaster management and how safe our hospitals are in emergencies he also explained measures to be taken during the course of emergency.

Flowers were presented to the speakers by Mr. Zakaulla Siddiqui, and Mr. K.M.Abraham- Vice President of MUNA. Mr. Ashraf Ahmed Shaikh introduced guest speaker.

Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. A.A.Syed – the Secretary General.

Refreshments were served after the formal programme.
