MUNA observed world Health Day on Monday 9th April 2008 at Godrej Bhawan at 5:00PM.

The Theme was given by WHO “Impact of Climate Change on Human Health”. The programme was well attended by members of MUNA, important personalities from Mumbai students and teachers of Bai Kavabai School and Junior college, students and professors of H.R. College and general public.

Welcome address was delivered  by Mrs. Pheroza J. Godrej – the then President of MUNA, Mrs. Mohini Mathur – Executive Chairperson read the message for the occasion of Dr. Margaret Chan - Regional Director General – WHO.

H.E. Mr. Hirotsugu Haguda Consul General of Japan and H.E.Mr. Casandu Paparroiu Consul and Trade Commissioner of Romania also graced the occasion.

Dr. Govind Chainani gave a power point presentation with various pictures from different continents depicting the effects of climate change on health of people.

The speakers were Dr. Mrs. N.M.Maulik, Professor and Head of the department of medicine LTMMC and Sion Hospital, Dr. Huzefa Binderwala Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr. N.V. Nadkarni Ex- Dean Sion Hospital. Ms. Prachi Bali, Student, Youth leader, BMS Course of H.R.College gave an overview of climate change and different diseases.

Flowers were presented to the speakers by Mr. Zakaulla Siddiqui, and Mr. K.M.Abraham- Vice President of MUNA. Mr. Ashraf Ahmed Shaikh circulated the visitor’s book for signatures.

Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. A.A.Syed – the Secretary General.

Refreshments were served after the formal programme.
