U.N.Day 2006 was observed at the Darbar Hall, Raj Bhawan, Malabar Hill, Mumbai, on 31 October 2006 at 5:15 pm.

His Excellency Shri S.M.Krishna, Governor of Maharashtra presided over the function.

The Guest Speakers were: Ms. Busi Kuzwayo, Consul General of the Republic of South Africa, Mr.Jean Charles Damarquis, Consul General of France and Mr. Gul Hussain Ahmadi, Consul General of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The programme was flagged off by a power point presentation and screening a film on the Emergence of the UN, by Ms. Ami Goradia. The compare for the programame was Ms. Sarita Sethi.

The Welcome Address was delivered by President, Mrs. Pheroza J. Godrej. A report on the activities of the Association was made by Ms. Mohini Mathur.

After the presentation on UN, Ms. Ami Goradia conducted a quiz competition on the UN in which children from various schools participated. The winners were awarded certificates.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. A.A.Syed. The National Anthem followed. Refreshments were served in the well-manicured lawns of Raj Bhawan.

The Police Band was in attendance.
