Chairman

Mr. Mohammad Zakaullah Siddiqui is the Chairman and Governing Council Member of Maharashtra United Nations Association (MUNA).


Mr. Siddiqui holds Bachelors Degree in Arts and Post Graduation in Law from University of Allahabad.
Apart from   the   travel and cargo, import   &   export business, he actively participates in various socio-economic activities, and attached to many national bodies. He is the former President of Islam Gymkhana, President of Allahabad University Alumni Association, Vice-President - Indo Arab Society and Vice-Chairman - Islamic Foundation.


He is also the Life Member of Cricket Club of India and Malabar Hill Club Limited. He is Member - General Council of Anjuman-e-Islam, Member Erstwhile – Advisory Board of Bombay Mercantile Co-op Bank Ltd. Mr. Siddiqui also serves on Advisory Boards of Indian Personnel Export Promotion Council and Priyadarshini Park, Nepeansea Road.

 

Mr. Ashraf Ahmed Shaikh

Mr. Ashraf Ahmed Shaikh holds bachelor’s degrees in Commerce and Law and further he has Masters in Law from University of Mumbai. He is a practicing Advocate in Mumbai at Bombay High Court and other Puisne Courts in the state of Maharashtra for more than 16 years, he has been handling several criminal litigations, appeals and constitutional matters including writs and Public Interest Litigation, he represents several Corporate bodies, Educational Institutions, Association of Indian Universities and other public organizations.   

Mr. Ashraf Ahmed Shaikh has an in depth experience of working in multi-cultural, social and International organisations since 1999. He has worked with many NGOs to name a few Coordinator - Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation (CDR), Action for Good Governance and Networking in India (AGNI), Founder National Co-ordinator of Indian FNST Alumni Network (IFAN), Chairman of Pragati – Advanced Locality Management, Member of G/North Ward Citizens Forum, Police Peace Committee and Consumer Guidance Society of India (CGSI) and Life member – Indo Arab Society.

He also has experience of working on advisory panels of Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Home affairs (Government of Maharashtra) and Mumbai Municipal Corporation for drafting various Legislations, bills and bye – laws.

He has also been appointed by corporates like Titan Company Limited and Ducon Technologies (India) Pvt. Ltd. as External Expert Member on the Internal Complaints Committee to deal with the cases of Sexual Harassment at work place as envisaged under “The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, ("POSH Act").

Mr. Ashraf Ahmed Shaikh has also worked with various educational institutions. He was the Hon. Legal Advisor of SNDT Women’s University, Vice Chancellor’s nominee as member on Adhoc Board of Studies in Law, National Social Service, Local Inquiry Committee, Scrutiny Committee and he was the Hon. Coordinator/ In charge of its Law School for Under Graduate and Post Graduate Courses and was instrumental in shaping the administration and academic. He taught subjects like, Human Rights, International Law, Business Law, Criminal Laws and Interpretation of Statues. He was the Research Guide for Post Graduate Programme in Human Rights of Indian Institute of Human Rights, New Delhi, where he guided a research thesis on the topic - “The Concept of Human Rights and Legal Status of Muslim Women”. He is also on the panel of advocates for Mumbai Regional Centre of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (A Central University). He has also been invited to serve as Member of the Governing Board Canossa Convent High School and special invitee of All India Shah Behram Baug Society - (for Scientific and Educational Research). He was also Vice Chancellor’s nominee member on “Court” of Pondicherry Central University (which is one of the highest authorities of the University).

Mr. Ashraf Ahmed Shaikh has attended and organized many international conferences, seminars and launched many campaigns. He was invited to represent India in an International Seminar on Human and Civil Rights at International Academy of Leadership at Germany in 2006. Later in 2015 he was invited to USA by the United States Government on “International Visitors Leadership programme” (IVLP) on the subject of “US Judicial System”.

He is the Editor of the book titled - “A Golden Saga of Youth Festivals”, Published by Indos Books.

In recognition of his services to the society for Peace, Human Rights and Education he was Awarded Outstanding Humanitarian Services Award, Global Achievement Award at World Congress by Mazdayasnie Monasterie and “Brilliant Achiever Award” by Zoroastrian College and Medicina Alternativa. The Title of “Shining Star “is conferred on him by Ideal Educational Movement and Maharashtra Police has also honored him for Community Social Service on Indian Independence day.

Dr. G. N. Chainani (MBBS, MD(Path), DPB) is the President of MUNA and a Practicing Pathologist by profession in Mumbai.

Mr. Shabbir Rangwala

Vice-President

Mr. Shabbir Rangwala is the vice president of MUNA and Chairman of Sunrich Companies by Profession.

He holds an MBA in Shipping from NMIS. He is a member and has held executive positions with various reputed business and social organizations like, Member of Shipping and Logistics committee in IMC, Member of Shipping and Logistics committee in EU Chambers of Commerce in India, former president of Rotary Club of Mumbai Downtown Sealand, AKS Member of Rotary International, Former Vice President of Indo-Arab Society and Advisor in FAYZ-E-HUSSAINI Trust.

He has also made numerous philanthropic contributions to improve the well being of numerous people. Most of his projects are in the areas of Health and Public Infrastructure projects. One of his top contributions was upgrading the out patient’s department (OPD) of Sir J. J. Hospital one of the largest general hospital in the city of Mumbai which caters to on an average 4,50,000 poor & needy patients a year.

For his outstanding social work and contributions to the business community, he has been a recepient of multiple awards. Some of his top Awards are -
1. AWARD OF APPRECIATION was received by the hands of His Excellency Hon’ble Shri Mohammed Fazal, Governor of Maharashtra for the human touch and generosity for lasting contribution for renovation of OPD lobby of J. J. Hospital and Senior Citizen on 26th May 2004.
2. VIJAY RATNA AWARD for outstanding International Business man.
3. Named a PAUL HARRIS FELLOW by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary international.

Dr. K. Dhebri

Secretary

Dr. K.R. Dhebri (MBBS FCGP) is the Secretary of MUNA and by profession a Senior Family Physician on the panel of leading hospitals of South Mumbai.
He is also Executive Chairman-Health Awareness and Wellness-Lions International District 3231A1(2022-23) and Chairman -Doctors' Cell - MRCC.

Mr. H. Chaturvedi

Secretary

Mr. Chaturvedi is the Secretary of MUNA and (Indian Legal Service) Rtd.
He was also Ex Additional Secretary Govt of India M/o Law& Justice, Former Judge NCLT Mumbai, and Debts Recovery Tribunal Chennai. He is a Practicing Advocate by profession.

Mr. Ashdin Kapadia

Treasurer

Mr Kapadia is the Treasurer of MUNA. He is a B. Com, LL.B (General). He has been part of Rotary Club in the past and also involved with work in coordination with Sydenham and St. Xaviers college in Project Care work for the mentally and physically challenged. He is in the business of imports of packaging materials.
